What’s better than coming home after a long day of work and being able to escape to your own backyard oasis? Let’s go over some simple ways that you can transform your backyard ‘miss’ to backyard BLISS.
Hanging baskets

Hanging baskets can have you feeling like you’re in a lush garden in Thailand in no time. All you have to do is install a few hooks and hang up your beautiful flowers, on display for all to see. You can choose to put blooms or herbs in the baskets..or both!

Set the mood with backyard lighting

The perfect lighting will set the mood for your backyard experience. Even if you’re working with a smaller budget, mood lighting goes a long way without breaking the bank. There are lanterns, DIY luminaries, or LED candle lights. You can also drape a tree with white twinkle lights or hang stringers of clear bulb lights. Fairy lights in bottles or mason jars add a little bit of a whimsical look.

Add a fire pit

Nothing says staycation like building a nice fire in the backyard. There are several different outdoor fire pits that you can build, depending on what you’re looking for and your budget.

Pools and hot tubs

While we’re talking water, we’ve got to bring in the big guns. If you have a big enough backyard, you may be considering getting a pool or hot tub. Pools can enhance the overall aesthetic of your backyard while also providing endless hours of fun and entertainment and exercise for the whole family.

Water features

Add some water to your backyard and you’ll be feeling like you’re at a resort in no time. Listening to the water will also do wonders for those after-work stress headaches. You can go small and simple with a tabletop fountain or go big and dramatic with a large fountain that changes colors. You could also build a pond and if you’re feeling really fancy, add some Koi fish to it.

Space to entertain

If you’re a big entertainer, you might want to consider expanding your backyard amenities. You can go all out with an outdoor kitchen complete with a pizza oven or something more subtle like a gazebo or some backyard furniture so that your guests have a comfortable place to sit down and relax.

Invest in quality furniture

If you’re planning on spending a lot of time in your backyard oasis, you’ll want to invest in some comfortable outdoor furnishings. This will create a comforting and inviting outdoor space for your friends and family to enjoy. There are plenty of options on the market, from simple Adirondack deck chairs to larger sectionals and even outdoor recliners for optimal comfort.
